China RoHS Declaration Table Template

The declaration table for China RoHS is typically filled out at the sub assembly level. Generic parts such as Printed Circuit Assemblies (also called Printed Wiring Assemblies) can be declared all together. However if one particular PCA also includes another notifiable substance, for example a display PCA with a mercury containing backlight, then a company may want to declare this PCA separately. It is important to note that if a product is EU RoHS compliant there will still be a number of substances that will have to be declared for China RoHS. These are the substances that are in the product under EU Exemption.  Most EU RoHS compliant PCAs will contain lead. This is found in the ceramic and/or glass of some common electronic components such as SMT resistors and some SMT capacitors through the EU exemptions. Aluminium heatsinks and mild steel nuts, bolts and screws may also contain lead under exemption. Hence the box in the table for "Lead" for China RoHS Declaration will need to be "X'ed" for most subassemblies containing fasteners and passive SMT components.

To make declaration easier for English speaking companies, RoHS-International has developed a declaration template in MS Word. This template contains 26 of the most used assembly names in both English and Chinese. Assembly names include Printed Circuit Assemblies, Main Printed Circuit Assembly, Display Printed Circuit Assembly, Power Supply Unit, Cables, Fasteners, Metalwork, Enclosure etc. The template comes fully configured in the format stipulated by SJ/T11364-2006 including the explanations of the meaning of the "X" and "O". Both English and Chinese characters are included for ease of use and ongoing maintenance. Have a look at our Sample Declaration Table template with a complete list of assembly names. To use the template, simply delete the lines that are not relevant to your product and X or O the appropriate boxes.
